What is Science?

Do you know what is science?
You may think that science is only a school subject but it's not.

Science is the human endeavor to discover truths about the world around us. Scientists seek out answers through observation and experimentation. As we discover more and more, we are able to apply what we've learned to develop new technologies and to improve everyday life. But perhaps more importantly, as we gain knowledge through science, we are able to begin satisfying our deep-felt need to know more about ourselves.

Did you know?...

  • Dinosaurs were reptiles. They died out 65 million years ago and nobody knows why! Some people think that there are still dinosaurs left.
  • Humans have a constant body temperature of 37ºC.
  • Dogs can smell things about 40 times better than we can.
  • The brain is the most important organ in our bodies. It controls the body and makes sure that it works properly.
  • The circulatory system contains over 100 000km of blood vessels carrying blood.

Save it!

Fossil fuels are running out. If we use less of them then they will last longer. Fossil fuels are used to generate electricity, for heating and for cooking.

Please try to use less! One day we will need and we won't have it...

         Save it!
